So in my Great Books and Ideas II class we are reading Frankenstein. We have gone into debate about how technology is the modern day monster and it will come back to potentially haunt us, like in the novel. 

Today we were discussing creating life and all I could think of was David 8 from Prometheus. So I mentioned that to my teacher and he told us that the novel, Frankenstein, had an alternate title as ‘The Modern Day Prometheus’. So then we went into a discussion about the original Prometheus tale. 

All through out I could not get out of my head what Erik Lehnsherr says in X-men: First Class about how he is ‘Frankenstein’s Monster’ and he is looking for his creator. It really is the perfect analogy for his character, and I enjoy it immensely. 

The thing that I love about this all is that Michael Fassbender plays both of those characters. I know that I may be looking into this too much but I really do like that he has made these choices that involve similar themes. 

I don’t know, I can’t articulate what I want to say very well but I hope you kinda got the gist of what I am trying to say! 

I just find all of these connections super interesting!
